The environmental fee is a state fee, not an American Waste Control charge. The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) charges landfills, incinerators, compost facilities, and roofing material recycling facilities a fee for every ton of waste disposed of at their sites. It applies to all waste disposed of in the state of Oklahoma.
Because we offer several types of service, the fee shows up on your invoice in one of two ways:
- Services priced by volume include the environmental fee in the flat rate, so it is not a separate line item.
- Services priced by weight list the environmental fee as its own line on your invoice.
